I believe that Craig was benefited greatly by the people around him in numerous ways. One way that he was benefited is that he was able to notice people around him that were in worse situations than him. It kind of made him guilty about feeling bad about his situation when there were people in much worse situations than his like having nowhere to live. An example of this is his room-mate Muqtada. Muqtada is always cold and basically never gets out of bed. Living in the same room with him for two days made him feel really guilty. about being in a mental hospital for depression.
I also think that the people in the hospital helped bring out his good side. An example of this is when he lent his shirt to Bobby who had to take an interview to get into an adult home. He needed a nicer shirt than the one that he owned and I think just the fact that he thought about helping other people around him was a huge step forward. This connects to the blog post that I wrote on October, 18th. He has also taken in that everybody is unique and that everybody has their deficiencies that make them who they are. Humans are made of imperfections.
I think that I am nearing the conclusion of the book. The author is starting to tie up loose ends. Craig made up with his friends after their fight over the phone and he also made up with his Principal who he hung up on because he thought he was being expelled. It has been an extremely moving book.
